Liverpool are confident that they will secure the signing of James Milner on a free-transfer in the summer, once his current Manchester City deal has expired.
According to ESPN, the Anfield based dide are set to launch a bid for Milner, who is set to leave Manchester City at the end of this current season.
The 29-year-old has seen contract negotiations break down with the Premier League title holders, in a series of events which has alerted Liverpool to a transfer.
And with club stalwart Steven Gerrard to leave the Reds for the LA Galaxy next season, Brendan Rodgers is on the hunt for a midfielder to reignite the club, once Gerrard departs.
Milner joined City from Aston Villa in the August of 2010, and has since made 152 appearances for the Citizens.
