Zinedine Zidane confirms play-maker isn’t looking to leave

Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane has confirmed that James Rodriguez isn’t pushing for a move away from the Bernabeu.

Several reports had emerged claiming the Colombian was unhappy with his role at the La Liga side, and was ready to leave the club in order to play regular first-team football.

Rodriguez has been linked with a move to the Premier League, with both Chelsea and Manchester United linked with making mega-money moves for him, worth around ÂŁ60million.

However, speaking about the midfielder, Zidane was adamant that he doesn’t want to jump ship and is solely focused on fighting for his first-team place at the Bernabeu.

Rodriguez Staying Put

“I have spoken with James but that isn’t the issue,” Zidane said. “He does his job to the maximum.

“But there are times when he forgets things, which is something I know because I was a player. What James needs is more continuity, not just him but the entire team.

“We’re all in the same boat and no one is going to jump. As long as I’m the coach we’ll always fight.”
