Carragher tells Chelsea that it would be a big mistake to get rid of Antonio Conte

The former Liverpool defender believes Chelsea would be making a big mistake if they get rid of Conte given his success in the Premier League so far.

“I said at the start of the season before a ball was kicked that I would be surprised if he was still there next season because he wasn’t shy in letting it be known that he wasn’t happy with recruitment in the summer,” Carragher told Monday Night Football on Sky Sports.

“Chelsea have a way of working with transfers, it’s not just the manager’s decision. But that’s not just at Chelsea. I think managers have to accept that to a certain extent. He’s already putting noises out there about what he wants in January.

“I don’t how well that’s going down at Chelsea to be honest. Chelsea have had great success changing managers, but I think changing Conte would be a mistake. I think he’s a proper top manager but I’d be very surprised if he was there next season.”
