Jamie Carragher informed Gareth Southgate that he made a mistake by leaving Jarrad Branthwaite out of the Euro 2024 team. One of the deserving eight players who did not make the final 26-man roster for the tournament is this Everton defender.

Huge names have been left off of the England squad, but Jarrad Branthwaite should have been chosen to play in Euro 2024, tweeted on X by former Liverpool and England defender Carragher, who expressed his shock at the decision.

Gareth Southgate cuts top seven English players from Euro 2024 list

Jack Grealish was left out of England’s squad for Euro 2024 by Gareth Southgate, which shocked the sports director of a Premier League team. When Southgate cut his 33-man training group to 26 on Thursday ahead of UEFA’s 11 p.m. deadline on Friday, as Grealish was the most well-known player to be dismissed.

It has already been reported that James Maddison, Harry Maguire, and Curtis Jones will be leaving early. Jarrad Branthwaite, James Trafford, and Jarrell Quansah will round up the unfortunate seven by staying at home this summer. Since then, Manchester United defender Maguire and Tottenham midfielder Maddison have shared social media posts expressing their disappointment.

For the tournament, Southgate has chosen five renowned centre backs: Joe Gomez, Marc Guehi, John Stones, Ezri Konsa, and Lewis Dunk. On Sunday, June 16, England plays a group match against Serbia to begin their Euro 2024 campaign. After that, they play Denmark and Slovenia.
