Former Liverpool player Jamie Redknapp has named N’Golo Kante as his Premier League player of 2016, describing the midfielder as a “superstar”.
Redknapp told when asked by Sky Sports who was his player of 2016: “It is quite an easy one this – N’Golo Kante – his performances at Leicester last season were just phenomenal.
“I have never seen a player cover so much ground and work so hard for his team, never waste a ball, and play with so much energy.
“You can see the impact he is now having at Chelsea – he has had some 2016. He did not cost that much money either, but what a player. A superstar.”
Kante earns £100,000-a-week and has been successful with 89% of his attempted passes in the Premier League this season, he is currently on the road to win the title for the second season in a row.
