Jan Siewert has said that he doesn’t want to be compared with David Wagner or Jurgen Klopp.

The new Huddersfield Town manager is said to have signed a two and a half year long deal at the club.

New Huddersfield Town manager Jan Siewert has said that he doesn’t want to be compared with former manager David Wagner or for that matter, Jurgen Klopp, despite belonging from the same Borussia Dortmund background. The German gaffer is said to have signed a two and a half year long deal at the club.

Speaking to the media after his introduction as the new manager of the Terriers, the former Borussia Dortmund reserve team coach said, “First of all, of course there are similarities, because our playing style is a bit similar. But the most important thing is I’m Jan Siewert and I have to do it my way and David his. I don’t think you should compare the two.”

He added, “Jurgen is definitely an inspiration. But please, I can’t be compared to Jurgen Klopp, you know what I mean, because he has had so many successes, and he’s an outstanding manager. And I’m Jan Siewert.”

Siewert confirmed that he was at Sunday’s match against Manchester City but was hidden somewhere at the John Smith’s Stadium to keep away from the media. He said, “I have to thank Martin from Wakefield because it was fantastic that I could observe the game. And he’s a good-looking guy, yeah? I’m not kidding; for me it was good to have a silent look at the game and get the atmosphere and the feeling.”
