The defender is currently on ÂŁ40,000-a-week
According to reports, Tottenham Hotspur are ready to offer their centre-half Jan Vertonghen a new bumper contract at the club.
The Belgium international has had positive talks with the club this week and looks as though he will extend his stay at Spurs beyond 2018.
Vertonghen’s back-line partnership with Toby Alderweireld has been key to Tottenham’s rise to second in the Premier League table, which is why Mauricio Pochettino and co. are desperate to tie him down long-term.
The 28-year old, who moved to White Hart Lane from Ajax for ÂŁ12 million back in 2012, is also on for a pay rise should he put pen-to-paper on his new deal.
