Javi Gracia is set for a longer stay as the manager is poised to sign a new deal with Watford in the next week.
The Hornets manager took over the charge from Marco Silva and since then has worked out day and night to give this side a complete new dimension. Terms of the new contract have already been agreed and if all goes well the Spaniard is slated to sign a three year contract with the club.
Following a tumultuous last season where he managed to rescue the club from a demotion, the manager maintained the positivity this season too as he led the club to a brilliant start.
Watford failed to keep up the intensity but his efforts have earned plaudits. The manager confirms he is very close to signing a new deal. “We reached an agreement for the next years and I don’t sign yet but I will next week. I’m happy because I think it’s good for me and good for the club as well, and then we’ll see.
“As a coach you always depend on results but in this moment what I can say is I’m proud to be part of this project – not only for one year but for a long time.
“It’s good for me. I feel happy here, my technical staff as well and we try to do our job to help and improve the team.”
