Inter Milan veteran Javier Zanetti has dismissed reports linking him with a move to Premier League side Chelsea, and has insisted that Milan is his ‘life and home’ after spending nearly all his career there.
The 40-year-old was being linked with a shock move to Stamford Bridge in the Summer in order to reunite with Jose Mourinho, and the plan was to have him play across the back-line for one year, before offering him a coaching role at the club.
However, Zanetti has confirmed in an interview that he has no plans of leaving Milan because he is happy there and wants to remain there for the rest of his career.
“Honestly, I have a great rapport with Mourinho. We hear from each other frequently, but we’ve never discussed these things,” he told the Inter Channel.
“I believe the Inter fans know how I feel about this shirt. I’ve always stressed that this club is my life and my home.
“And it’s my desire to stay here. I don’t need to add anything else.”
