Jermain Defoe agrees deal with MLS side

Tottenham Hotspur striker Jermain Defoe has agreed a deal to join MLS side Toronto FC in January in a deal which will see him earn £90k-a-week.

The Englishman hasn’t been happy at White Hart Lane all season due to being second-fiddle to Roberto Soldado even though the Spaniard is not scoring goals.

The 31-year-old was wanted by both West ham United and Queens Park Rangers, but it is thought that they could not offer the striker nowhere near what the MLS side was offering.

It is believed that Defoe said yes to the deal last week and it will be all formalised in the new year when the transfer window re-opens.
