Germany coach Joachim Low has said that youngsters like Leroy Sane and Julian Brandt need time to develop in order to blend in with the experienced players in the squad. Germany’s poor run of results continued as they lost 3-0 to Netherlands in a Nations League fixture at Amsterdam. This was Germany’s first defeat to Netherlands since November 2002 when they lost 3-1 at Gelsenkirchen.

The loss is also Germany’s 5th of 2018 which is the most number of matches they have lost in a single year in this century. Low said that Sane and Brandt had some really good scoring chances during the match but could not cash in on them because of their inexperience.

Low said, “The young Leroy Sane and Julian Brandt were a breath of fresh air, but they missed a couple of good chances, maybe because of their inexperience. They need time to develop. We are still searching to set up a good balance between the experienced players and the young players.”

Germany’s next Nations League fixture is the away leg against France at Saint-Denis on Tuesday. The home leg against France at Munich resulted in a 0-0 draw.
