Liverpool midfielder casts doubts over his future

Joe Allen has put his Liverpool future in question after stalling on contract talks with the club following the dismissal of Brendan Rodgers.

The Welsh international was brought to Anfield by Rodgers from Swansea City, as he nicknamed him ‘the Welsh Xavi‘, but since the Northern Irishman was sacked, Allen‘s future has been under question.

Allen has made just one Premier League start this season, and with new manager Jurgen Klopp likely to bring in his own signings, Allen could be one of the players that has to make way.

The midfielder has 18-months left on his current contract, but as of yet, he hasn’t entered formal talks with officials at the club regarding an extension.

Talks Gone Quiet

Speaking about his future, the 25-year-old admitted that contract talks with the club have gone very quiet.

“That’s gone very quiet,” the midfielder said. “I’m not too sure really.

“I’ve only made one league start this season, so I want to play more. I think that’s obvious for any player in that situation.”
