Home Championship Blackburn Rovers Joe Cole criticises Liverpool

Joe Cole criticises Liverpool

Joe Cole has criticised his former club Liverpool for thinking they are the biggest club in England. The midfielder signed for the Reds back in 2010 on a free transfer but failed to make a mark for the club after being sent off in his debut match.

Cole now plays for Aston Villa and he has now reflected on his time at the club in an interview for CFCUK fanzine. The 32-year old claimed that in his first Reds interview, he was told all of the trophies the club had won, before being asked if it meant that the Anfield side were the best team in the Premier League.

He said: “I just said “yeah, if you put it like that, I suppose you’re right” and Liverpool used that as the headline to the interview. I didn’t want to upset anyone so I just went along with it.

“But obviously they are not the biggest club any more.”
