Joe Kinnear the 67-year-old last night resigned from director of football with Newcastle united confirming in a statement saying its with “imediate effect, and that the club will be making no further comment.”

Joe Kinnears resignation ends an eight month relationship with the Magpies, its been a journey of failed promises and no success. Kinnear who angered Newcastle supporters upon his return to the club in an interview claiming to have “more intelligence than them”, it was a controversial appointment by club owner Mike Ashley with a main focus on finding new talent to which kinnear claimed he would be looking to bring in “world-class players”.

Joe kinnear’s only additions to Alan Pardew’s team in the 2 successive transfer windows has been two loan signings in Loic Remy from Queen’s Park Rangers and Luuk de Jong from Borussia Monchengladbach, and his only permanent addition to the club in a deal was teenage prospect Olivier Kemen from Metz. Alan Pardew had become increasingly frustrated with Kinnear, who also played a key role in seeing the sale of midfielder Yohan Cabaye to Paris Saint-Germain, and seemingly failed in the attempt to sign Lyon midfielder, Grenier in the January transfer window. Following Saturdays 3-0 battering at the hands of their arch rivals Sunderland Pardew claimed that if he had been in sole charge of the transfers “things would have been very different.”
