The defender continues to be linked with a move away from Goodison Park

According to reports, Everton centre-half John Stones is more likely to move to Manchester United or Manchester City instead of Chelsea.

The Blues had four bids for the England international rejected in the summer, but scouts from La Liga giants Real Madrid and Barcelona have been watching the ex-Barnsley man consistently this season.

However, it is believed a move to Manchester is more likely because Stones wants to stay in the Premier League; and United and City have the sufficient funds to meet Everton’s ÂŁ50 million valuation.

The Times have also suggested that the 21-year old wants to stay in the North-West should he leave Merseyside.

European glory

Rumours are circulating that new Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola will be handed a transfer budget of ÂŁ300 million when he takes the reigns at the end of the current campaign.

The Spaniard apparently wants to bring Stones to the Etihad Stadium, as he looks to build a squad that can help him meet his target of winning the Champions League by 2019.
