Chelsea captain John Terry is set to deliver good news to the club by agreeing to sign a one-year extension at Stamford Bridge.

The 33-year-old, whos current deal expires in the Summer, has been in superb form for The Blues ever since Jose Mourinho returned to the club last Summer, and there were even shouts for him to come out of international retirement to join England at the World Cup.

However, his future with England looks all but over, but as for prolonging his time at Chelsea, he could be set for another year at least.

Due to him being over-30, Chelsea will only offer him a 12-month deal, as that is a new club policy put into place, but it is believed that he is finally ready to accept the deal, rather than hold out for the two-year extension that he wanted.

Terry is currently earning around ÂŁ150k-a-week at Stamford Bridge and is set to enter his 17th season as a professional.
