Leicester City defender Jonny Evans feels Harry Maguire made the right decision by not choosing to join Manchester United in the summer. The English international was heavily linked with United throughout the summer.
Maguire arrived at the King Power Stadium last summer and since then has been an integral part of the Foxes squad. He was involved in all of the top flight games last season and his excellent defensive display earned him a place in the England World Cup squad.
The 25 year old went on to have a fantastic World Cup with the Three Lions and although they couldn’t make it to the final he did leave his mark with his rock solid performance in the heart of the backline. United had looked for his services but the defender showed his loyalty by remaining at the club and club rewarded him with a brand new five year contract.
Evans said, “You could sort of tell that that might happen. You can tell he loves the club.
“He’s been playing very well for the club over the last year, he’s gone on to play for England and has been fantastic.
“I think when things are going well in your career like that it’s important to keep that stability in your game.
“He’s done the right thing and already all the lads are texting him saying congratulations.”
