Jordan Henderson has agreed in principle to a contract extension that would tie him to Liverpool for at least the next four years. The midfielder has enjoyed a good campaign under Brendan Rodgers, who has also revealed he will be signing a new contract too.

The 23-year old joined the Reds from Sunderland back in 2011 for a fee of ÂŁ18m but he had a tough start to life at Anfield. In August 2012, the Englishman turned down a move to Fulham and stayed on at Liverpool. Now he is finally getting the form he wants at the club. He has had a fine season this year, managing to contribute both goals and assists. Brendan Rodgers will be hoping that he can carry that form into next season.
