2018 World Cup star Jordan Pickford has signed a new six-year deal with Everton. This will keep him at Goodison Park till 2024. Pickford joined Everton from Sunderland in 2017 on a transfer fee of ÂŁ25 million thus becoming the third most expensive goalkeeper ever.

In his first season for the club, Pickford played all of their Premier League games, making 10 clean sheets. He was named Everton’s player of the season. He earned a call-up to the national team and soon became England’s first-choice goalkeeper.

Jordan Pickford shone during this summer’s World Cup in Russia. He made some terrific saves as England came fourth in the tournament. Pickford’s performances during the World Cup attracted many teams, particularly Chelsea who wanted to sign him as a replacement for Thibaut Courtois. However, Pickford decided to stay at Everton and has signed a new 6-year deal with the club.

Pickford said, “Getting the opportunity to become England’s number one was down to being at Everton, I believe.” Everton are currently 12th in the Premier League. They play their next match against Fulham at Goodison Park on Saturday.
