The Spaniard has been linked with a move to Tottenham
Jordi Alba joined Barcelona from Valencia for a transfer fee of €14 million, signing a 5 year contract in 2012. He has been the mainstay on the left side of the defense since then and has established himself as one of the best full-back in the world.
He has won 4 La Liga titles with the Spanish side and has won 1 Champions League too, after beating Juventus in 2015.
The Spaniard has been a regular for the club last term, seeing of competition from Lucas Digne again. He has scored 3 goals and assisted 8 in 46 appearances and helped his team to win the Domestic double.
The defender has a €150 million release clause and is contracted with the until the summer of 2020. But he is yet to receive a new offer from the club and it has been suggested that he could leave this summer.
The 29 year old has been heavily linked with a move to Tottenham. Danny Rose is expected to leave after he fell down the pecking order last campaign and the club wants the Spain International to compete with Ben Davies in the upcoming season.
But Alba has dismissed the rumors by claiming that he is determined to stay at Barca and wants to continue his career with them.
Asked if Tottenham’s reported interest was affecting him, he told a news conference as quoted by Goal: “No, no, I’m very good at Barca. If it were up to me, I would stay at Barcelona all my life.
“But it does not depend on me but on what the club wants. It also depends on my performance, which this season has been very good, but I do not see myself outside of Barcelona.”
