The Spanish international has been one of the most influential players in the Blaugrana squad and is set to see his current contract run out in 2020. Alba wants to stay at Barcelona and has expressed his desire to stay with the Blaugrana. He said, “It doesn’t just depend on me, as it also depends on the club. When I signed for Barcelona it wasn’t for money. I came here for the feeling and because it is my home.”
The player has been a vital cog in the Barcelona lineup and has made his presence felt in the defensive as well as attacking departments. His darting runs down the left-hand side has often created problems for the opposition defenders and retaining him would be a good throw of dice for Ernesto Valverde as well.
