Jorge Mendes has insisted that Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is not leaving Stamford Bridge to become the new boss at Barcelona.
Reports in Spain have suggested that Mourinho could be in line for a return to the Camp Nou – where he previously acted as translator for Bobby Robson and Louis van Gaal – if Joan Laporta wins the Catalan club’s presidential elections.
But while Mendes is adamant that Mourinho is going nowhere, he maintains that he has a good relationship with Laporta.
He told Cadena SER: “He is overjoyed to be Chelsea, which is where he wants to be.
“He will stay for a long time at Stamford Bridge having already spent many years at Barcelona.”
On Laporta, Mendes added: “I have a very good relationship with Laporta. He did a phenomenal job and made Barca the best they have ever been.
“But I have not asked him whether or not he is going to stand for election.”
