Chelsea have made their first summer signing by getting Jorginho from Napoli for £50 million. There was plenty of speculation about the Italian-Brazilian coming to Stamford Bridge and now it has been confirmed with Chelsea welcoming him to the club on twitter.
Earlier today, Chelsea appointed Maurizio Sarri as their new head coach who will replace the sacked Antoni Conte. Jorginho will reunite with Sarri at Stamford Bridge.
Jorginho will wear the No.5 shirt for Chelsea which was previously worn by Kurt Zouma. The 26-year old was quite thrilled to be at Chelsea, stating, “I am absolutely ecstatic to be here at Chelsea. It is not easy to become part of such a big team so I am very, very happy. I am excited to play in such an intense league, for a team that gives everything to play and win.”
The midfielder had a pretty good season with Napoli, scoring 4 goals and as many assists for them across all competitions. Jorginho’s inclusion in the Chelsea setup has definitely added depth to the club’s midfield.
