City just needs to agree a transfer fee with Napoli
Jorginho joined Napoli from Hellas Verona in 2013 and has been a mainstay in the midfield of the team this season. He has constantly performed at the highest level and established himself as one of the best midfielders in the league.
The 26 year old has been pivotal for the Italian team this season, linking the play between defense and attack. He has scored two goals and assisted four for the club in all competitions.
The Italy International has been linked to both the Manchester Clubs this season, with City being the favourite. Pep Guardiola has prioritized signing a holding midfielder in the summer as he has realized the club depends too much on Fernandinho.
Joao Santos has claimed that his client Jorginho, who is valued in the region of £50 million, will make a move to Guardiola’s side this summer if they can agree a transfer fee with the Serie A giants. The Premier League giants wants the deal to be done before the World Cup.
“Jorginho is still under contract, but if Napoli find an agreement with City then he goes to Manchester,” he told CalcioNapoli24.
“Finding an agreement with the English won’t be a problem, considering their importance, but I repeat it depends on Napoli as the player is tied to the Azzurri for two more years.
“City are champions of England and among Europe’s top clubs. Now we must stay calm. If Napoli and City find a solution, we can talk about it, otherwise the player will be happy to stay at Napoli.
“For now, I haven’t heard from anyone at Napoli because I imagine they’re busy planning for next season.
“I hope to hear from their director, and maybe he’ll be in Naples in the next few days to talk about Jorginho.”
