Callejon has been linked with a £16m move to the Blues following a terrific debut Serie A campaign last season, scoring 15 goals and assisting seven to help Napoli to third in the table.

Callejon signed for Mourinho’s Real Madrid side in 2011 from Espanyol for just over £4m but was given hardly any playing time at the Bernabeu by the Portuguese manager.

The Spanish schemer has made it clear that he is unwilling to leave Napoli to play under the divisive Chelsea manager.

“My agent told me of this [speculation]. I was glad [Napoli declared him untransferable] because I really want this shirt.

“I still have four years on my contract. I feel good, I feel the support of the people.

“And I’m a former Real Madrid man? Indeed…but never say never in football. In any case, I do not have a problem – with Benitez I have complete freedom and I do not want to give that up.

“Not even for Mourinho at Chelsea? No.”
