Jose Mourinho bemoans Stamford Bridge atmosphere

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has appeared to take a leaf out of Andre Villas-Boas’ books after he has openly criticised the clubs fans after their 2-2 draw with West Bromwich Albion at the weekend.

A late, controversial Eden Hazard penalty rescued a point for The Blues on Saturday and after the game, Mourinho questioned the atmosphere at The Bridge and stated that it wasn’t ‘very hot’ inside the ground.

Mourinho has become the second Premier League manager to question the home fans of his club after Villas-Boas slammed the Spurs fans for their negative approach to games at White Hart Lane.

Since then, the atmosphere at Tottenham has been electric and maybe Mourinho is trying to do the same for his club.

‘This is Stamford Bridge’s nature,’ Mourinho told the Fulham Cronicle.

‘We know that our fans are in love with the club, more than in any other club or the same, but it is a different profile.

‘We know Stamford Bridge is not a very hot atmosphere, not a very strong atmosphere normally, and we accept that.

‘But in the last part of the game, when they felt the players were up to have a go and a fight, they were very much behind the team and they support the team.’
