Jose Mourinho Blames Schedule For Tactical Ignorance

Jose Mourinho’s latest comments over his team’s tactics might not settle with the Manchester United faithful. Speaking to the press, the Red Devils boss revealed, “It’s good to have Monday off which we haven’t had for quite a while and it’s good from Tuesday until Saturday to try to work tactically which is also something that we don’t do for a while because of the culmination of matches.”

United did lose by 2 goals to 1 against Valencia in the midweek UEFA Champions League fixture to further the concerns of the fans. They are 8 points behind Arsenal in the sixth spot of the Premier League and are due to face their biggest rivals, Liverpool this Sunday.

With lacklustre performances in recent times, one hardly wants to hear about his/her team’s tactical unawareness right before one of their biggest fixtures of the season.

Lest we forget, Mourinho is a crafty tactician who often discloses less than he intends to. The previous season game against Liverpool brought down massive criticism onto him, centred around his team selection and in-game tactics.

United could not take advantage of a weak Liverpool side and ended the night with a wary draw.

The Merseyside men are strong contenders for the League title this season, currently holding onto the top spot by a single point. According to Jamie Redknapp, Mourinho’s defensive could backfire.
