Jose Mourinho insists he is unaware whether there will be funds to spend in the January transfer window.
Given the current situation, Manchester United are likely to have one of the busiest transfer windows. The arrival of a defender and at least a right sided attacker could give Mourinho some much needed reinforcements at his disposal.
The Portuguese manager was clearly annoyed over the limited activity in the summer transfer window as United managed only three transfers and spent in the region of £70m to conclude business.
But the Red Devils have already been linked with a host of players and this upcoming month could see some new players donning the United jersey. Mourinho clearly needs to acquire the service of a few players but when asked the Portuguese didn’t have a positive answer.
“I don’t know. I don’t know if we are going to have new players – I would like to – but I don’t know if it is possible or not.
“It depends on the club. I don’t know and, honestly, I’m focused on my job of playing Liverpool and next week playing Cardiff.”
“I’m not frustrated because my work is to demand from players that they give everything they have and what I demand – I only demand things that I can give myself.
“So what I ask the players to do – that’s what I do. You have to work hard, you have to work on your limits. It’s my job.”
