Jose Mourinho could be forced to sell star

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho could be forced into selling one of his star midfielders in order to raise money to sign a world-class striker.

The Blues boss has made it clear throughout the season that his side is lacking a proven finisher, and for that reason, the Portuguese-man is set to sell his three current strikers and also Romelu Lukaku who is currently out on loan at Everton.

Demba Ba, Fernando Torres and even Samuel Eto’o may all be leaving the club in the Summer so that the club can raise some money to help fund for a new striker, likely to be Atletico Madrid’s Diego Costa.

However, selling just the three strikers will not be enough for Mourinho and he may have to accept defeat and sell one of his star-midfielders, Oscar or Eden Hazard, both whom are wanted by Paris Saint-Germain.

The French club are willing to spend around ÂŁ40million on both of the playmakers, and if they were to make a formal bid, Mourinho may choose to accept so that the club are not breaking the Financial Fair Play award when they sign their striker.

The news that FC Barcelona cannot sign anyone for a year has dented Chelsea’s hopes of a sale as they looked certain to bid for David Luiz, but that deal will now not take place due to the Spanish clubs ban.

Earlier in the week we reported that fourteen players could be leaving Stamford Bridge this Summer so that the club can free up some of their wage-bill and also raise money in order to spend big.
