‘Do more or don’t play’
Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has warned Radamel Falcao that he will continue to be left out of the starting XI if he doesn’t work harder.
The Colombian arrived at Stamford Bridge over the summer after agreeing to a season-long loan from Ligue 1 side AS Monaco. He spent last season at Manchester United on a similar deal, but after scoring just four goals, he flopped in the Premier League.
However, that didn’t stop Mourinho from signing him on a temporary deal, but just months into the deal, reports have already emerged that Falcao could be off in January.
The 29-year-old is behind Diego Costa in the pecking order at Chelsea and Mourinho has urged him to work harder if he wants to start more games.
Mourinho Warns Falcao
“I always go for the performance level. The best one plays,” said Mourinho.
“He has to give us more than Diego because we normally play with one striker.”
Falcao has made just two starts for Chelsea since arriving from Monaco.
