Jose Mourinho hints at Balotelli signing

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has refused to rule out signing AC Milan striker Mario Balotelli in the Summer as his quest for a world-class striker continues.

The Blues boss has been very vocal over the past season regarding the lack of a lethal finisher in his squad, but despite making these comments, he didn’t try and sign a new striker in January, so it is believed he will make a couple of big signings in the Summer in order to strengthen his attacking options.

Chelsea were linked with Radamel Falcao and Edinson Cavani in the Summer, but Mourinho admitted that the club couldn’t afford them due to the Financial Fair Play ruling coming into play, and that is why he signed Samuel Eto’o instead.

However, after Eto’o, Fernando Torres and Demba Ba have all failed to impress the boss, a new striker is likely to come in during the Summer break, and when asked about Balotelli, Mourinho refused to rule it out.

‘In football you never know the future,’ said the Blues boss.

‘Balotelli is with a big club at the moment but you never know the future.

‘They want to keep the best players and want to keep the best Italian players. But Mario has already been in English football before.

‘I’m not going to be manager of Milan or the Italy national team, but he’s a good kid and somebody I’d like to work with again.’

The two worked together at Inter Milan and despite the striker costing around £40million, it is believed that Chelsea and Mourinho are prepared to pay that much for the Italian.
