Jose Mourinho hints at possible January transfer activity

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has not ruled out the possibility of transfer window activity at Chelsea this month.

Mourinho said while it was unlikely there would be any new arrivals. he refused to close the door on that option completely.

Last year, Mourinho said that nobody was coming or going at Stamford Bridge, only to see Juan Mata depart for Manchester United.

He said: “Last year you asked, me and I didn’t lie to you but in the end of the day Mata was sold, so because Mata was sold we had to react to that.

“I am happy with the squad, happy with the boys. “We are happy with that – I will be happy if nobody leaves and nobody comes. But we don’t know so I won’t lie to you.”

There may yet be a need for reinforcements as Chelsea are fighting on multiple fronts for trophies, sitting top of the Premier League, an upcoming Capital One Cup Semi-Final against Liverpool ahead.

The Blues are also targeting FA Cup and Champions Legaue success this season.
