Manchester United lost another chance to reduce the deficit with the top four as they were held to a 1-1 dull draw by Wolves at the Old Trafford.

On the back of a positive display in the Champions League the Red Devils were supposed to continue their winning run but Jose Mourinho’s men had very little to offer.

United made a cautious start and it was Wolves who made the ball talk as they surged forward with real attacking purpose. David De Gea came to United’s rescue again as the Spanish custodian made two good saves to deny Nuno Espirito Santo’s men from opening their account.

Paul Pogba was in the thick of things again. The French midfielder made a very slick pass to Fred who blasted it home to score his first goal for his new side. Joao Moutinho curled in a delightful effort to snatch a deserving point from the home side. Jose Mourinho rued the missed chances and blasts his players for a very poor performance.

Mourinho said, “Not a good performance, not a good result.

“A fair result, Wolves, by the way they faced the game deserved because they play like I like to play, which is like the World Cup final, that’s the attitude that I like my teams to have every match and we didn’t have that. They had, we didn’t.

“The attitude made the difference, they were in the game since the first minute, they play every ball, every second in the maximum of their intensity and desire, and we didn’t, we start poorly, we start both halves at a low intensity and is difficult to win matches when you are not there.”
