Manchester United are not losing their confidence in Jose Mourinho, according to reports.

It has been a few difficult weeks for the gaffer as United have been struggling to put their foot firmly on the ground. The Red Devils haven’t been able to muster a win in the last four games and recent reports revealed the boss may have to leave his post after the conclusion of the next match.

United are set to host Newcastle United at the Old Trafford which is being seen as a crucial fixture in determining Jose Mourinho’s future. United are off the pace in the title race and any hindrance in the next could kill their top four hopes.

United lost unexpectedly to West Ham and then went on to play out a dull goalless draw with Valencia in the Champions League. Names of Zinedine Zidane and Mauricio Pochettino have surfaced as a potential successor to the manager but the club hierarchy doesn’t want to rush things as it seems.

In the previous two instances, both David Moyes and Louis van Gaal’s departure were suggested by the media. United do have a number of tough fixtures lining up ahead as they are due to face Chelsea, Manchester City and a Juventus twice in the Champions League.
