Chelsea boss gives the latest on January plans

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has given an update on his club’s proposed plans in the January transfer window.

The Blues boss stated he wouldn’t be spending any money in the winter window earlier this season, and he’s once again reiterated his desire to keep the squad as it is, despite the poor start.

Chelsea have won just four Premier League games so far this season, and despite falling way behind title-rivals, Mourinho is still adamant that spending isn’t the solution.

Mourinho Talks Transfers

“I will not ask any change to the board for January, I am happy with my players, I trust the players,” he said.

“I don’t need to clean the dressing room, and I don’t need to ask the club to spend money in January.”

“We are in November and we’re all focused on doing our job the best we can,” Mourinho added.

“We are not speaking about players, buying, spending.

“We are concentrating on what we can do now. We can try until the end of December with the maximum amount of points.

“We will try to be in a position where we can smell the top part of the league.”

Kane and Vardy

The Chelsea boss was then asked about interest in Harry Kane and Jamie Vardy, to which he replied with: “These are stories that start since 1st September when the market closes and will get more and more and more from January 1.

“I know which players are possible and which are impossible.”
