Jose Mourinho out to ‘destroy’ opponents

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has revealed that he believes his team will ‘destroy’ everyone in the Premier League once they find top-form.

The Blues swept aside newly-promoted Hull City 2-0 at the weekend at Stamford Bridge, but whilst doing so, they also missed a hat-ful of chances.

Mourinho is preparing to take charge of his second competitive game since his return to England as they host Aston Villa tonight at Stamford Bridge, who kicked off their season with an impressive 3-1 away victory against Arsenal.

With the likes of Oscar, Eden Hazard, Juan Mata, Romelu Lukaku, Fernando Torres and Frank Lampard (just to name a few), Chelsea possess one of the deadliest attacking line-ups in European football and Mourinho expects them to destroy everyone who gets in their way once they start finding their feet.

‘If we do that, we will destroy an opponent,’ he said. ‘We’ll get a much bigger result because going that way you have to score goals.

‘We want to win matches. But what I like is that when you have the chance to beat them by three, four or five, we have to do it.’

Mourinho also had some advice for midfield-man Hazard and he admitted that he is yet to reach his full potential.

‘When you are a normal player you have to be happy if you perform OK,’ he said. ‘But when you are a top talent you can’t waste it.

‘He mustn’t be up and down but always at the top of his game because he has the ability to be a top player. This is what I want. Whether I can get it I don’t know but he is working very hard. I’m very happy with the kid.’
