Jose Mourinho ready to sell David Luiz

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is apparently willing to sell defender David Luiz in January, with Spanish giants FC Barcelona interested in his signature.

The 26-year-old was heavily monitored by the Catalan club in the Summer after they failed to sign Paris Saint Germain centre-back Thiago Silva, and after a couple of months being rejected and turned down, it finally looks like they could get their man.

The Brazilian international has fallen down the pecking order since Jose Mourinho’s arrival in the Summer, as he tends to partner Gary Cahill with John Terry, and if reports are to be believed, the Portuguese-manager could be willing to sell the fuzzy-haired centre-back.

Barca boss, Gerardo Martino, is desperate to land a new central-defender with current options Carlos Puyol and Gerard Pique constantly picking up knocks and injuries.

It isn’t understood how much Barcelona would have to pay The Blues for Luiz, but they coughed up ÂŁ26million for him when they signed him from Benfica just two seasons ago.
