Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho thinks that the club are in for a difficult season unless the owners make any signings before the transfer window closes on Thursday. Manchester United’s poor run in their pre-season matches continued as they lost to Bayern Munich. Javi Martinez scored the only goal of the match in the 59th minute.

Manchester United have not been doing very well in the transfer window this summer. So far, the club has signed Fred, Diogo Dalot and back-up goalie Lee Grant. The Red Devils have been pursuing Harry Maguire and Toby Alderweireld but have been unable to sign either of them.

Mourinho said, “My CEO knows what I want and I still have a few days to wait and see what happens. The other clubs who compete with us are really strong and already have fantastic teams. Or they are investing massively like Liverpool, who are buying everything and everybody. If we don’t make our team better, it will be a difficult season for us.

Mourinho however, also claimed that the game was a good experience for the youngsters. The Portuguese said, “Finally, it’s over. Finally, such a difficult pre-season is over. The players were, once more, brilliant. They could not have done better than what they did.”

Manchester United begin their Premier League against Leicester City on Saturday.
