Blues boss close to sealing extension

Jose Mourinho has agreed a four-year extension with Chelsea Football Club, according to reports.

The Blues boss returned to Stamford Bridge two years ago, and successful guided them to another Premier League title last season, as well as a cup win in the Capital One Cup.

New Contract for Manager

According to reports this morning, Mourinho will sign a new four-year deal, seeing him remain at The Bridge until 2019.

The new contract will see the Portuguese boss remain on £165k-a-week, which will earn himself £34million over the duration of the deal.

As of yet, no contract has been signed, but it’s believed Mourinho has given a verbal agreement to Roman Abramovich, and the deal should be announced formally before the start of the season.

Earlier in the year, Mourinho made it very clear that he wants to remain at Chelsea for the long-run this time.

Mourinho Wants Stay

He said: “Mr [Roman] Abramovich needs to be very calm.

“I am in his hands. I want to stay, I don’t want to leave. I am not asking for a better contract.

“I am very, very calm. He doesn’t need to be worried, he has me.

“If he wants me to stay, I’m staying. When he wants me to leave, I leave.

“I know he wants me next season because I am working. A ten-year contract is not important.”
