In a press conference the Chelsea boss made another controversial and bold statement, by claiming Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is a ‘specialist at failure’
The managers claim is another war of words between two sides who are both competing for Premier League title this season.
Its not unknown that Wenger and Mourinho have rarely seen eye to eye in almost everything when it comes to managing philosophies and football in general, but this will surely hit Wenger hard with it being quite a vicious statement.
Mourinho made this comment after,on friday night, Wenger claimed the title’s was Chelsea’s to lose, adding that Mourinho’s claim that the Blues are outsiders represents a fear of failure.
The Chelsea manager – who won five major trophies during his first spell as Chelsea boss, including the Premier League twice, between 2004 and 2007 – drew attention to Arsenal’s current eight-year spell without a major trophy, saying: “He is a specialist in failure, I am not.
He went on to say, “If he is right and I have a fear of failure it is because I don’t fail many times. So maybe he is right?”
“The reality is he’s a specialist because eight years without a piece of silverware, that is failure. If I did that in Chelsea I would leave London and not come back.”
League leaders Chelsea hold a one-point advantage over second-placed Arsenal in the race for the title, with Manchester City also close, being only three points behind Chelsea
Is the Portuguese boss right or is this quite simply a ludicrous comment?
