Portuguese has five players in mind to lure to Manchester United

Jose Mourinho is already planning for life as Manchester United manager as he eyes five top class additions over the summer.

The Portuguese has been out of a job since being sacked by Chelsea back in December, but with pressure mounting on Louis van Gaal, it’s looking likely that he’ll replace the Dutchman at the end of the season.

Despite a recent run of good results for Van Gaal, including a 3-2 win over Arsenal, the doubts are still there and Mourinho is still likely to take over in the summer.

Should he be given the job as expected, it’s reported he will be offered a ÂŁ300million war-chest to spend over the summer in order to strengthen the team.

Five Defenders Wanted

According to reports, Mourinho will use that money to strengthen the defence at Old Trafford, with defenders a priority for him.

On his list is is: Raphael Varane (Real Madrid), Marquinhos (Paris Saint-Germain), Marc Bartra (FC Barcelona), John Stones (Everton) and Aymeric Laporte (Athletic Bilbao).

Mourinho has made it clear to Ed Woodward and other officials at Old Trafford that their defence needs strengthening, and he is eyeing top talents around the world to help improve the back-line.
