Chelsea boss wants to stay

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has pleaded with Roman Abramovich to keep him in his job at Stamford Bridge despite the latest loss in the Premier League.

The Blues lost 2-1 last night to Leicester City and now sit just one-point above the relegation zone in 16th place coming up to the busy Christmas period.

Chelsea have now lost nine out of their opening 16 games, and Mourinho spoke out about his future following their latest setback.

When asked about his job and his future at Chelsea, Mourinho was adamant that he wanted to stay in order to turn things around, and he pleaded with Abramovich to keep keep faith in him.

Mourinho Statement

He said: “I want to stay and I hope Mr Abramovich and the board want me to stay.

“When some of your players don’t hit the levels they are capable of it is hard to see. This season we are doing so bad for some reason.

“To turn things around, I know only one way, working at the top level. Day by day in training I have no complaints with them.

“But it is frustrating to see what they are doing in training and what they do in matches.”
