Spanish left-back Juan Bernat has joined PSG from Bayern Munich at a fee of £13 million on a three-year deal. Bernat came to Bayern Munich in 2014 from Valencia. He was a regular for the club in his debut season. However, he fell down the pecking order in subsequent seasons. All-in-all, he played 111 matches for the club across all competitions and scored 3 goals.

Bernat told PSG’s official website, “I am very proud to be joining Paris Saint-Germain. After my debut in Spain and my experience in Germany, I will discover a new country and, above all, a new club who have made a spectacular rise in recent years. Paris Saint-Germain are known throughout Europe, with world-class players.

I am also looking forward to working under Thomas Tuchel, whose work in Germany was remarkable. I am truly excited to be taking the next step of my career with Paris.”

Bayern’s sporting director and former Bosnia international Hasan Salihamidzic said, “Juan Bernat has asked us to accept the offer from Paris and to release him from his contract. We have complied with this request and have reached an agreement with PSG in very good talks. Juan has always been a model pro and played a big part in the eight titles we’ve won with him. We wish him and his family all the best in Paris.”

PSG have won their first three league matches and next take on Nimes tomorrow.
