Jude Bellingham has not wasted any time to announce himself on the biggest stage in world football.
Borussia Dortmund signed him from Birmingham City last summer for a reported £25m.
He has quickly gone on to establish himself as a regular in BVB’s midfield, racking up 33 appearances this season already. The 17-year-old played the full 90 minutes against Sevila to help Dortmund to the Champions League quarter-finals.
George Harbey of Football League World said, “I didn’t expect it, not at all.
“Bellingham was obviously a hugely important player for Birmingham last season and was arguably one of the brightest prospects ever to grace the Championship. He was more than deserving of his move to Dortmund, and I thought it would take him a little bit of time to embed himself and kick on for the German giants.
“But after watching him in recent weeks, especially against Sevilla, he looks a class act and it doesn’t look like the step up has fazed him at all. Perhaps no fans being there has helped him to settle in and ease those nerves a bit more, and they will be so excited to see him when they are allowed back into grounds.”
Bellingham has gone from strength to strength, playing in various positions across the midfield. His skill level was so exceptional he practically featured in every position for Birmingham last term. Now, he is excelling in a more deeper role with the freedom to charge ahead when required.
