Reports in Italy suggest that Brazil International Julio Cesar is all set to join Napoli on a season-long loan deal.
The rumour was given a boost by CNN’s Italian sports correspondent Tancredi Palmeri who tweeted about the possible move a few hours back.
The Queen Park Rangers’ goalkeeper was a member of the Brazilian side that won The Confederations’ Cup last month, beating World Champions Spain 3-0. He was also the winner of the Golden Glove award having conceded just 3 goals in the tournament.
QPR were dropped to second tier of English football and will be happy to reduce their wage-bill by laying off Cesar following their relegation.
New boss Rafa Benitez will also be looking to rebuild the Italian side as he is already close to losing star striker Edinson Cavani.
The 33-yr old’s previous stint in Italy had been highly successful, having won the treble with Inter Milan under Jose Mourinho.
The keeper old was also linked to the English side Arsenal, but it seems that Wenger may have now lost the opportunity of signing him.
