German ready to axe defender to make way for new signings
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is ready to sell centre-back Martin Skrtel this summer, according to reports.
The German is expected to be very busy at the end of the season, putting his own stamp on Liverpool, and that’s set to start in the transfer window as he eyes several new recruits and several sales.
Klopp has already got deals in place for Marko Grujic and Joel Matip, but that’s thought to be just the beginning, with more additions eyes and several players expected to be sold.
One player that is being linked with a shock move away from Anfield is experienced centre-back, Skrtel.
The Slovakian has been at the Premier League outfit since 2008, following his £6million switch from Russian side Zenit St Petersburg.
Despite signing a new three-year deal last year, Skrtel could be one of many leaving the club this summer with Klopp ready to make mass changes.
Matip is believed to be coming in from Schalke on a free transfer as the Slovak’s replacement.
