Borussia Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp has penned a new deal at the club which will see him remain manager until 2018.

The German manager has been in the spotlight for the last few months after he guided his Dortmund side to the Champions League final, and after that feat, a lot of club’s around Europe were reportedly interested in his services.

However, he has put any potential moves to rest after signing a new contract at Dortmund.

Klopp said: ‘This is a clear sign of our devotion to the club. We are still somewhat in love with the club and the way things work round here.

‘There was speculation and sure there may have been offers but we have a responsibility to this club and we want to build it up.

‘We enjoy great confidence here and are treated very well. We have great trust and faith here.’

‘We are working very hard to continue on our path with Dortmund. There will be a lot of challenges ahead but we want to tackle them and continue to bring the team to a higher level.’

‘It’s a honour that some big clubs rate my work at Dortmund, but I’m not the type who wonders whether the grass is greener elsewhere.

‘It’s important to be at the right club and at the right time and Dortmund is the right place for me.’
