Kluivert wants to follow his father’s footsteps

Ajax Amsterdam are known for having one of the best youth academies in the world. They have produced many dutch talents over the years- Johan Cruyff, Edwin Van Der Sar, Dennis Bergkamp, Patrick Kluivert and more. They all have been very successful for both their club and country. Latest talent to come out of the academy is Justin Kluivert, son of Patrick Kluivert.

Justin Kluivert has been grabbing headlines in Eredivisie. He has been performing brilliantly for his club Ajax and is already tipped as the future of the Dutch National team. He was recently ranked as the best teenager in the world football on Goal.com’s ‘NxGn 2018 Top 50 Teenagers’ list.

The 17-year-old Ajax forward has reportedly been the subject of interest from numerous Premier League clubs, but he admits his foremost desire is to move to the Camp Nou.

“My dream club? Barcelona. That is my dream club,” he told Goal.

“To follow in my father’s footsteps? Yes. That is my dream club in the end. I would not mind going elsewhere, but Barcelona is the dream.”

He also claimed that his role model is Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo:

“I look up to Cristiano Ronaldo,” the striker tells Goal. Not just because of his qualities, which are obvious, but also the way he lives and eats and how hard he trains. He is really an example for me.”

Justin Kluivert recently on 26th March made his international debut for Dutch National Football team at the age of 18. His father also made his debut for the country at the age of 18.
