Johnson is yet to be offered a new deal at Anfield, and this has sparked much specualtion over the Englishman’s future at Liverpool, with Juventus and Real Madrid emerging as most interested in the right-back. With Jon Flanagan showing a lot of promise and summer signings Moreno and Manquillo also showing their worth, a move for the 30-year-old isn’t to be ruled out.
According to reports across Europe, Juventus and Real Madrid are both trying to convince Johnson to a move abroad in the similar fashion of Ashley Cole, who left Chelsea for Italian side Roma in the summer. Johnson will be available on a free transfer at the end of the season if he isn’t to be handed a new contract by Brendan Rodgers, but both the European giants are believe they can lure the England International away from Merseyside for a nominal fee.
Despite the interest that is being showed by the two clubs, it remains uncertain whether Johnson will want a move abroad or prefer to stay in England.
