According to reports from Sky in Germany, Juventus are viewing Dejan Lovren as a replacement for their injured skipper Giorgio Chiellini. The veteran defender suffered an ACL injury in a training session and is set to sit out for several months.

Lovren has already been touted to leave Liverpool this summer. The Croatian international arrived at Anfield in 2014 and has made 170 appearances for the Reds since then. However, he is yet to feature for Jurgen Klopp’s men this season, with the German opting to play Joe Gomez, Joel Matip and Virgil van Dijk in the heart of the defence.

Juventus are interested in acquiring Lovren’s services in spite of having an able backup in Matthijs de Ligt, who signed from Ajax in summer. Apart from the Serbian, Juve are also looking at Bayern Munich’s Jerome Boateng and former player Mehdi Benatia as possible options.

Juventus will face Fiorentina following the international break while Liverpool will go up against Newcastle at Anfield.
